So what is AcroYoga? It is a practice that combines Yoga, Acrobatics and Thai Massage. The beautiful combination of these unique practices helps to cultivate deeper communication, trust, connection and playfulness.
“Lunar” refers to the therapeutic branch of AcroYoga, the softer side. It focuses on the restorative and rejuvenating practices of therapeutic flying and Thai Massage. In this practice, the flyer is passive and receptive to a form of bodywork given by the base.
During the evening, we will rotate roles to learn the parts of all three players: base, flyer, and spotter. When flying, we will explore how all of these roles contribute to the safety and support of all involved. Everyone will be given the opportunity to base, fly, and spot, to nurture and be nurtured.
Following our “fun with flight” we’ll delve into the yummy and nurturing practice of Thai massage.
This is a beginner’s playshop. There will be a strong emphasis on safety, play, connection, community and nurturance. All levels of fitness, experience, and ability can find a safe and enjoyable level in this playshop.
We will be switching partners and groups throughout the evening, for our maximum learning experience, as well as to aid in the cultivation of a sense of community. If you choose to bring a partner though, don’t worry, you’ll have a chance to work with them at different points during the evening.

Trinity has facilitated transformational dances at the Omega Institute, Princeton University, Jiva Mukti and many other wonderful places. In 2001 she studied Reiki and a few years later became a Reiki master. During her studies at IIN she discovered Thai Massage and pursued training with Lotus Palm and in Thailand. Trinity is a 200 hour certified Yoga Instructor and has been teaching yoga for 15 years. She has also studied and been trained in Circus Yoga™, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage, Authentic Relating & Deeksha aka the Oneness Blessing.
Maisah-- Maisah started studying yoga whilst looking for a way to maintain her body for her work as a modern dancer. She finished her Vinyasa 200hr certification in 2011 and was introduced to AcroYoga that same year. Already being smitten with both movement and people, she fell in love with the practice; eventually completing teacher training with the AcroYoga Montréal team in 2015. Community, compassion, consciousness and playfulness are the things that AcroYoga fills her with, so she strives share these in her teaching.
In addition to AcroYoga, Maisah also teaches Vinyasa (ERYT 200), Aerial Yoga, Restorative & Kids' Yoga (RYCT). You can find out more about her ongoing classes, AcroYoga or otherwise at www.yogawithmaisah.com or fb: Yoga with Maisah.
